ICEA Food Check is the program created by ICEA that allows you to check, directly from your desk, if the additives on the product that you bought (ex. citric acid, pectin, etc.) mentioned on the label, are compatible with the organic production method.

Filling the spaces with the names of food additives that are contained in the organic product that you bought, Icea Check Food tells “good” from “bad” ones.

“Good” ones, which are shown in green, are allowed under the EC Reg. 834/07 for organic farming.

All companies that are more sensitive to consumers needs avoid all the others, shown in red, even if they are allowed. 

There’s also an intermediate group, in yellow: they are all the additives that can be considered organic according if they interact with animal or vegetable origin products (in this case it must be specified which type of products it is considered).

The program, other than suggesting names of additives after indicating their first letter, accepts also European E number (ex. E330 = citric acid).

The software is updated with the most updated data from new EC Reg. 834/07 that from the 1rst of January 2009 substitutes EC Reg. 2092/91.
 


ICEA Cosmetic Check is simple and accurate at the same time.

The program, also created by ICEA, recognizes each one of the around 9000 substances, constantly updated, registered within the European database of the ingredients that can be used by cosmetic industry (Inci).

To facilitate filling the spaces and avoiding errors is the program itself that suggests name of the ingredients after typing the first letter of the word.

When the evaluation process is started, ICEA Cosmetic check divides ingredients in “good” and “bad” ones.

“Good” ones are the environmentally friendly and dermocompatible ones, shown in green, that does not contain GMOs or synthetic chemical substances, are not toxic, and that does not produce undesirable effect on the human body. 
This mean they are part of the 3500 substances that are allowed by environmentally friendly cosmetic criteria, defined by Aiab Italian Association of Organic Farming, together with producers, universities and consumers.

All the others, highlighted in red, are the ones that, even if they are allowed according to law, are not used by those companies that are more sensitive to needs of the consumer (petroleum, petroleum derivates, parabens, etc.).
